For a couple of months I've been investigating this idea of using lossy compression algorithms to generate interesting-looking images.

AI or ML-generated images have their uses, but I wanted something where I "painted", not just "prompted".

After being able to come up with a few scripts and after many failed attempts, I'm happy to announce Lossy Art, with 4 images to get started.

The idea is that a photo, image, or drawing goes through a custom script of different kinds of compression and scaling, multiple times, and a variation is chosen and tweaked, according to the author's preference.

This is my way of mixing software engineering with graphical art and photography.
