Zen Cron Released

Simple Scheduled HTTP Requests

tl;dr; Check out Zen Cron — Simple Scheduled HTTP Requests.

For a while I've been thinking about building an easy way to "setup and forget" crons for the serverless apps I run. There are a few options available, but they're either a bit too expensive (€15+/month) or too complicated (too many options, too many plans, too many upsells).

When I was thinking about what to build with Deno that would allow me to deal with more complexity than a simple website (meaning having user sessions, transactional emails, subscriptions, etc.), this app/service seemed like a great fit.

The final result has been running for my own apps for a while now, and it's called Zen Cron. You have a 14-day free trial and the basic plan costs €30 / year for unlimited crons (running with a maximum frequency of 12 times per hour -- every 5 minutes).

I started it from my Simple Deno Website Boilerplate and it was a pleasure to build it. I realized later that the design does feel a bit like Deno Deploy's, but there are enough differences for me to not fret about it. I was likely subconsciously influenced by it.

I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you for your attention and kindness. I really appreciate it!
